After years of rumors, the spice girls group is finally coming together for a summer reunion tour. The girls later started asking their fans, “Say You’ll Be There” after the announcement. Minus Victoria Beckham “Posh Spice,” other members of the group; Melanie Brown (Scary), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty), Emma Bunton (Baby), and Geri Halliwell (Ginger) made an official announcement on Monday that they are coming together for a six-date summer tour in the United Kingdom.
The spice girls have kept reassuring fans of a reunion for years. Their last team-up was in 2012 when they closed out the Olympic stadium, and they have had informal meetings until this latest announcement.
They tweeted on their official twitter handle:
“WE’RE GOING ON TOUR!!
We’re incredibly excited to announce the Spice World tour. Tickets go on sale this Saturday”.
The tour will start in Manchester on the 1st of June and close in London at the end of June. To remind their fans of what an impressive group they are, they cheekily left the caption “friendship never ends.”
On her twitter handle, Victoria Beckham wished her mates all the best in their upcoming tour, she wrote:
“Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012! I won’t be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life, and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”
When interviewed on BBC Radio 2 in February, Melanie said the women were talking about opportunities and ideas for the future. However, she opines that there is no big announcement on the way, just that it is great being back in Spice World.
Back in January 2017, Victoria and Melanie gave us a New Year surprise gift by performing a throwback of their 1996 hit “2 become 1” at a party. It was at the Maldives, Melanie was joined on stage by Victoria, and they sang arm-in-arm, dazzling their fans. Later, there was a photo posted by Chisholm from the mini-reunion with the caption: “Candlelight and soul forever ❤ a wonderful start to 2017 xxx.”
We look forward to what the spice girls have for us on their upcoming tour.
